What are your options when selling your car?

car buying

You’ve decided it’s time to get rid of your old car, but you don’t know where might be best place to do so with the plethora of avenues now on offer.

The 21st century option would be to get an online car dealer to buy your vehicle. These is probably the easiest way, as you put in your registration onto a website before getting a quote.

If you like the quote, you can book in to get your car checked and sell it there.

Part-ex at a dealership

The most common way of getting your car bought off you is when you trade or part-ex your existing model for a newer one at the dealership.

This way often means less time wasted versus a private sale. Plus, you are more likely to be upgrading and needed a new car anyway, so what better place to be than a showroom.

Privately, some argue you can get perhaps a little more money versus part-ex and online. However, there are a lot more risks and dangers to selling your car privately.

Most notably, you don’t know the other person from Adam, so you have to be careful not to be ripped off or worse yet, stolen. Secondly, you do get a lot of punters (time-wasters).

So, in conclusion, it depends on what method you feel safest with, how quickly you want to sell and also what your future intentions are for buying a new car.
